The Pyramids Are Awesome!

During our autumn holiday we went to the Pyramids of Giza. This was an amazing trip facilitated by our driver, Habib, a great guy! The boys were super excited. It was almost surreal, I never thought we would ever see one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. The Sphinx was so much smaller than we thought it would be, photos always show it in the foreground so the size is distorted. Still impressive though!! Most amazing is just how close the Pyramids are to the city itself. The streets of Cairo go right up to them and there's a Pizza Hut just outside the entrance gates. We were mobbed by everyone who was selling souvenirs, with so little tourist trade since the revolution their eyes light up at the sight of a foreigner.

Oksana at School

Oksana is enjoying her position of Teacher's Assistant. She is working with the two year olds in the Early Childhood Program. Her lead teacher is Egyptian, only 28 years old and very nice. She's become a good friend.

Here we are in Cairo, Egypt

During our first few day in Cairo we explored a little around our hotel and were treated to a boat ride on the Nile by our new school's director. Apartment hunting was interesting, we eventually found a spacious apartment in an ideal location close to Road 9, the renown strip that caters to the expat population in Maadi.
